Annie's Wedding~~~

It was the Big Day of my buddy, Annie and Jonathan... :) and it is also the first time we are attending a wedding lunch at Yan Palace Restuarant...

Xinru woke up around 830am that morning... Wow... first time breaking the 8am record.. hehe... When she woke up, i settle some of the stuff, get her to bath and change. After settling her, i went to bath and change too...

We left home around 10am and took Bus 103 to Serangoon Central to take NEL... We reached there around 1115am cause the invitation card stated 1130am and who knows when we reach there, no one was there.... Hubby ask 'Why are we going so early...' and i told him the invitation card states 1130and and as a buddy to her, we should be punctual...' but who know... hehe....

Nevertheless, since we are early, we went to the Mac at Chinatown Point... We order a Kids Meal and 1 extra drink and Medium fries cause we did not have any intake since morning...

We walked back over to the Restuarnt around 12noon and when we reached there, finally we are seeing friends and relatives of them. We walked to our table after congratulating the couples and giving them the 'Ang Pao'...

We were the first to be seated down and followed by my ex-schoolmate, Weiyuan who is alone as his wife is working... After having a short chat with him, my another ex-schoolmate cum ECA good friend came... and shortly the rest of my buddy came....

From the first dish, Combination Cold Plate will the last dish before the dessert, Xinru ate everyone of the dishes... hehe hubby and me was surprise.. She likes all except the sharkfins which she took a little.... Thruout the whole banquet, she did fuss about wanting to come down twice.. but i managed to coaz her to guai guai sit down and eat her food... *it's coaz and not scold ya* hehe Only when it was coming to an end, she wants to take my camera to take photos and due to that i need to pass to the bride's friend to take a group photo for us, she was making lots of noise... hehe Overall, she did behave very well thru... :)

Trip to Changi Airport

After hubby went to pick Xinru back from Child care centre, he brought her home for milk and shortly we left home... Where did we go?? hehe.... Finally we make our promise to Xinru comes true.... We went to Singapore Changi Airport.... Initially we were suppose to bring her there last weekend but she work up late so end up we went to Bishan Junction 8....

We left home around 3pm and we took 103 to Selatar Airport to change to 858 to the airport... I only realised from my place to the Airport is not even 1 hour... Yippie... so as and when we can just hopped onto the bus and off to Changi Airport... :)

When we reach there, we alighted at the Budget Terminal also known as Terminal 3... It was our first visit there ever since it open and a few of my forum has already went there.. hehe... Xinru was of course excited cause it wasn't very crowded and she is free to run around without being called.. hehe

She was being attracted by the water fountain area when she reach there... Ignoring whatever distraction, she ran all the way there to see the water fountain... hehe After coaxing her, we managed to get her feet off to the foodcourt there for lunch... :)

After lunch, we went to explore T3... the place was real big and spacious... Really enjoyed going there especially when i was young, my parents always bring my siblings and me together with my cousins to Airport... :) Hubby also like the place and says that we can come here to take the plane back to Penang the next trip.... Really anticipating the trip.... As for Xinru, she kept telling me that 'Mummy, i want to sit aeroplane leh...' and i have to keep telling her that we need to wait for 'Ah pek *my brother in law*' to tell us when to go over.... :)
We bypass the check-in area, then the departure gate and finally up the escalator to the viewing mall where the aeroplane are 'parked'....

After a while, we proceed to Terminal 2... On our way down the escalator, my cousin called me in a distance away... hehe... and because i have yet to see her second son before... of course.. taking a pic is not being missed... :)

After bidding bye bye to them, we proceed to the Sky train to go over to T2... and finally we reached T2... We went straight to the viewing mall and as Xinru was kind of like tired already so she kept asking to be carried and we took a trollery and ferry her around... :)

After 15mins or so, we started to walk to the City Bus terminal which was at the basement... On our way there, hubby went to the loo and while waiting for him, Xinru ran around the Check-in area and was happily running around and when her daddy came out, she play peek-a boo with him at laugh so happily at the Airport... :)

We left the Airport around 630pm and from the time when we reached there till we board the bus, Xinru never say a word of 'tired' and she was not even cranky..hehe... This means, she really enjoyed... hehe.... But shortly after we board the bus, she drifted to her dreamland within 5 mins... hehe... She is really tired... :)

It was a fun day although it was just going to the Airport, seeing aeroplane and running around.. :) And there is bound to be a lot more times coming up.... :)

New things~~~

Past few days have added somethings into Xinru's Play thing..hehe... On Monday i got her 2 box of puzzle cause the one that i bought previously "Dressing Up", she has already done and know how to do it already.... And have been repeating playing with it... so i got her another 2....

One of the puzzle is 'Colours' and the other is 'Before and After'. I have open up both for her... but i think the colours one is not that good in the sense that the red and orange colour is so much similar and the black and purple is quite similar also... Anyway, its ok... it's only for her exposure... :)

The other thing that i have added into her Play Thing yesterday was "Clipo Creativity Table". She was first exposed to it early this month through Young Parents Magazine cause the magazine came with 4 small pieces of clipo and she started playing with it... And when she was flippling through the magazine, she saw the advertisement of the PlaySkool Clipo toys and she tells me that she wants the table one which is the Clipo Creativity. Ever since she mention that she wants that, i been looking around for it... not because what she want i will buy... It's because my mom said she wants to buy for her... and since it's something that she can use her imaginative.. haha... But the clipo in this set only has 25 pieces of clipo and cannot do much thing like what she wants example cars and house... so i will be buying another set of clipo for her to add on to this... :)

I would say that she is one of those more imaginative kind of person.... One of the example is, She can do something out of the mega block and tell you what it is and after looking at it, it somehow looks like what she mention... :)

Finally after doing some checking out on 'WHERE IS SELLING IT' i managed to get them yesterday at United Square... hehe It was on promotion already so there is more further discount using the YP's coupon...

At night when she got home, she ask me where is her present and i ask her to ask her granny... So when my mom came out of her room, she ask her '阿嬷,有present吗?' then when my mom remove the plastic bag, she wil jumping in joy... after installing the set, she played with it... I think she still does not really know how to play with it.. so after a while, she got distracted by other things.... What's the other thing?? Read on.... The tent which i bought like don't know how long ago has become a white elephant in the storeroom.... She did ask to take it out when she saw it in the store room once in a while she got hubby to get the Play Doh in the storeroom... Yesterday when i reached home, the tent was already outside... so i thoough of putting the balls in to let her play.... She initially played it without the balls... She will bring in her Barney and piggy bank in and played inside... hehe Looking at her playing is an enjoyment... :)

Lately Xinru like to say '大家一起吃,请吃' before she starts her dinner.... So last night when she was about to take her porridge, she says '大家一起吃,请吃..谢谢妈咪cook porridge for Xinru'.... I was so touched to hear that... hehe it does not really matter whether does she know what that really means... but its how she put it rite... hehe

All thanks to my friend, Jesline.... She has taught me some ways to stop Xinru from sleeping while the TV program is on.... and with that, i have more chance of talking to Xinru before she goes to sleep.... Since last week, after meeting up with her for lunch, we shared some ideas on certain things and i tried the 'switching off TV' way with Xinru... I guess its because she has grown up... so message was passed to her very efficiently... hehe
Nowadays every night after she finishes her milk, she will watch the program that she wants and when that episode finish, i will ask her 'Can Xinru please off the TV for mummy??' then she will go and off it and come and sleep beside me... then we will talk talk a little and i will tell her 'Good night, Xinru' and she will in return say 'Good night Mummy' then i will 'muacks muacks' her and she will do tat also... Last night she was funny.... When we were both on the bed, she ask me 'Mummy, 有冲凉吗? then i tell her that before i went to pick her i already bath already.. the next thing she did was she snif snif and say 'Hmmm 很香' hehe....

And nowadays i will try to get her to off the TV half way thru a program so she can cut down on the TV before sleep... :)

Dinner with Xinru

I actually kind of like to bring Xinru out for dinner when hubby is not having dinner with us...Normally when hubby is not, i will pick her from child care then bring her over to Fernvale Point, Kou Fu to eat...

On tuesday night, after i rushed home to put things, i went to pick her for dinner.... When we reach the foodcourt, i don't know what to eat... so sian of eating nowadays.... hehe... End up, i order Yong Tau Foo and rice.... I order a few of what Xinru likes to eat and we ate there...

She loves soup... and if there is soup, she can no need to eat rice...whahaha... so i always tell her that she eat 2 spoon of rice then she can have 1 spoon of soup... When she is in happy mood, she will listen.. but when she really don't feel like eating then no matter what you tell her, she will end up drinking only the soup.... That's her... Soupy Girl... heheh

Teletubbies

Ever heard of this character "Teletubbies"? hehe... Let me do a simple intro on this...hehe i can't remember it was the my sis's or the baby that my mom used to babysits like 12 years ago's era...

Tinky Winky(purple), Dipsy(Green), Laa-Laa(Yellow) and Po(Red), the cuddly quartet have captured the hearts of children everywhere and remain much loved to this day. To date, children in 120 countries have danced, sung and fallen over with the Teletubbies. They’ve chuckled with the Noo-noo, gasped at the baby sun and wondered which is nicer, tubby custard or tubby toast.

I remember i loved Laa-Laa and Po the most when i first saw this on the TV, cause they look so cute and i like their colour... :)

I lately subscribe a children channel from MOBTV called "CBeebies".. It's a channel for Preschoolers and they aired shows that are more suitable for children at her age... That night, she happen to got to watch this one night and tell me 'Mummy, you see... Monkey' i never thought they look like monkey but after she said that i really look at them and find that well they really look like one... hehe
When the show ended, she was asking for it again.. cause she think it's like her "Barney" show that she can replay the whole show again... Lucky the following show managed to distract her.. hehe

My Love for Xinru

Lately my little Xinru at home seems like deprive for a lot of Hugs from me... As and when when she feels like it, she will become a little baby and tell me 'Mummy, hug hug' i always melt when i hear that and i will her a warm and deep hug... and i will always call her 'Ah Poh' in hokkien meaning 'My precious'... Nowadays when she ask for hugs, i will do the same thing and she will say 'Ah Poh'.... :)

I can't remember where did i read it... It says that toddler at her age now will need and wants a lot of hug / attention from us... and of course now when she is still young, i will shower her with more hugs and kisses since she is the only child at home for now...She deserves all that we can give cause by the time the #2 arrived, she will not have our full 100% of loves and attention.. She can felt the love that i have given her... She will have me in her mind in whatever things that she did... She will always mention 'it's for mummy...' She is such a dearie to me that i cannot imagine how my life if going to be without her by my side.... I always tell her that 'Xinru is mummy's precious... mummy cannot live without Xinru'...

Sometimes she is as stubborn as a ox.... She can stand firm and tell you 'No' when ask to listen to what i have say... Especially when we are with my mom and siblings... When i restrict her in doing somethings, she will not listen to me... cause she wants to have her own way and wants 'her face'... always end up being scold and daddy becomes the one to be the good man which have been all along like that...
Hubby has always been the 'good' father role at home, like letting her do what she wants and giving in when she fuss, while i am always the one who raise my voice at her, restricting her on certain things and at times even using cane on her... But after things have calm down, i will tell Xinru why am i doing not allowing her to do this and that and the consequences of doing it...

Indeed, Little Xinru has grown up, she has become a little child that has pride... She loves to hear us praise her when she did something good and she like us to clap for her when she did something she feels that she is good.... And we always appreciate what she has done although its nothing special... All kids need appreciation and need to feel loved by their parents, aren't they??

Sometimes i do feel that i am very strict on her... I also don't why i am like that... haha...maybe i have certain expectations from her that i am even not aware myself....But i will try to see things at different angle from now on and try to understand from her point... or else she will grow up to be someone who does not have her own direction... Although she is just a 1 more day to 29months old, but she understand and know what she should do and what she should not do.. just that at times she tries to test my patient... hehe

Although i always want to control what she does but i am never pushing her to do something that she does not like.... i prefer to let her do things and learn things at her own pace... Cause i always believe in giving her a nice childhood rather than pressuring her to do things... :)

It was an ordinary Saturday... As usual, Xinru goes to the centre while the part time maid does the cleaning job and while i continue to 'chase' the chinese drama.. hehe... After Xinru came back home, it was pouring so end up the rest of the day was spent playing her toys n reading her current favourite book 'Barney's Peekaboo Halloween'... Sometimes i just cannot stand her.. she can ask me to read the book like 5 times a day!!!! But am glad that she enjoys what i read to her and will ask for more... :)

I have planned to prepare breakfast for Xinru so that she can have her proper meal... *oops* Xinru woke up slightly later then usual cause she woke up for her milk in the early morning... When she woke up, she call me and ask me to bring her to the living room.. While she was playing, i went to prepare her breakfast... She says she wants to eat hotdog so i prepare bread w cheese and hotdog for her... Ends up, she only ate the hotdog n the cheese while i ate up the bread... haha

After her breakfast, we went to Buangkok for our breakfast... We went to the newly open 'Kopitiam'. I took 'Xiao Wan Mian' and Xinru had some soup and fishball and after hubby is done with his breakfast, my mom and sis was still eating so me and hubby brought Xinru to walk round.. There were having some kind of promotion thingy for the newly open shops and there were some guys dressed up as a Cow, Bear and Elephant... Xinru was actually running around but when i told her that there were those 'animals' there, she ran a big round to avoid them and tell us that she is afraid... haha... Should have seems her running.. as if she is playing home run.. whahah...

We took a train down to Hougang and went to Hougang Mall cause my mom wants to buy a pair of shoe for Xinru... The one that i picked was only left with Size 5 and 1/2 but its just fits nicely on her so i told her not to buy.. My mom was the one feeling disappointed... After walking around, mom went to see her clothing while we brought Xinru to the library...

After retunring from Hougang Mall, Xinru went to nap and woke up around 3+ in the afternoon. She had Pork Rib porridge with fishball for lunch and after her lunch, i brought her outside the house to play bubble... When she was wearing her shoe something happen... She took her shoe out from the shoe cabinet and i was at the kitchen taking some stuff out to throw.. Suddenly she started running towards me and say 'yee yee yee' then ran away from the shoe and the next thing i saw her trying to get rid of the 1 cm big cockroach from her arms... She was shouting and i went over and try swap it away... The cockroach started running towards her shoe again and i called hubby out to get rid of it cause i am afraid of it myself... hehe This did not spolit my little girl's mood... She was still very happy playing with bubble... :)

Granny 46th Birthday!!

We planned to give my mummy aka Xinru's 阿嬷 a surprise on her birthday... So i arrange with Sis to buy a cake and come over my place around 8plus as she will always go out for dinner and come back around 9pm...

Last night, around 745pm, sis came over with Isaac and have their KFC at my place and around 830pm, bro and 大嫂came over to join us. From 830pm, i tried to call mom to 'bluff' her to come back home but end up she did not pick up her call and i think overall i call 15 calls from 830pm-930pm...

Until reaching 10pm, Sis called her and finally after a few calls, she managed to pick up her call and sis actually 'lied' to her that she was at home and just knock off.. hehe Our plan was consider success till then... As bro did call her a few times also, so she called bro back and we kept their shoes in and waited for her return...

I heard the lift door closing sound clearly and i rush to take the cake out to light the candle... And my little Xinru was so excited like that time her daddy's birthday and forgotten that we asked her not to say anything... When my mom was at the door, she was screaming in excitement... And when the door opened, she told my mom anxiously '阿嬷,got birthday leh...' then my mom saw the 4 of them at my place and she was so happy...

After lighting the candles, i held the cake and we sang song... Mum was so happy..... And we continued the photo session and cake cutting then the eating of cake.. after all that, they left cause the next day they still have to work...

Mum was surprise cause she never thought that we will buy her a cake and give her a surprise... cause we are bringing her out for dinner on her lunar birthday which is the next day of her actual birthday...

She thanks us for the surprise and kept saying 'ai ya.. why u all no tell me... if not we can order pizza to eat here...' then we told her 'if we had intended to tell you, then that isn't a surprise already'... :)

When i picked Xinru up from the CC, i saw a star on her hand... her teacher will usually draw a star on the front of the palm if the kid is behaving well...


I passed her a present from my friend, Elsie and when i give it to her, she was so happy... On the way home, we chit chat while she happily holding her present...After we reached home, she opens her present and saw her favourite "Barney" book... She started reading and asking me what is the thing on the book...

After she has her dinner, she was playing with her daddy the Play Doh while i was taking my dinner... After i finished, she ask 'Mummy, u want to play?' and i tell her 'no.. mummy is tired...' and she say 'Mummy tired ah... Mummy rest la...' haha.... then i went to watch tv at the sofa watching her and her daddy play... After playing the Play Doh, she ask to play the 'Dressing up Puzzle' and she started doing it w a little guidance from me, she completed it and ask me to do it all over again.. After i finish, she say 'Daddy's turn to try..' Hubby entertained her a while and i ask hubby to fixed it wrong purposely to see how Xinru reacts... and her reaction was 'Daddy... no.. not like that....' and she turned to me and say 'Mummy... daddy bu tong de....' haha... :P

She bath late last night... only bath her around 915pm... got her to bath fast and i did my bathing.. She came to the room and tell me 'Mummy, i am tired...' then i ask her to get her daddy to make her milk and wait for me... When i came out, she asked to watch Sharktale and shortly she drift to her beauty sleep.... :)
