Last Weekend's Posting

For the past 3 weeks, hubby and me was kind of like being ‘tortured’ by Xinru with her frequent tantrums that goes on for like ¾ of a day…. I guess I was the most affected one cause I am the main caregiver and as for hubby, in a week, he will be at home about the same as me for like 3 times a week for weekday but mostly when her tantrums come, I will be the one to handle her and unless I got really fed up, hubby will then take over me…. As for weekends, hubby will be busy with his project and again… me to handle her… tat’s y I say I was the most affected one when she starts her tantrums…

But after the 3 weeks of being torture, finally I have peaceful life again…. Hopefully it will continue…..

Last Friday, the school is having Children’s Day celebration so the night before, I got Xinru’s outfit for the party and told hubby to wear for her. When morning came, I was changing and getting ready for bed and suddenly I heard Xinru baby talking to herself then I look at her thru her playpen and there was lying on the playpen and when she saw me looking at her and she saw me changing, she tell me ‘美美’… then I tell her that ‘yes, ‘美美’… later ask daddy to change u '美美’ then go school okie….’ Then she says ‘okie’… Shortly, she called out ‘papa… milk milk’ then after a while, hubby woke up and make milk for her to drink and as usual, she wants to be carried out to make milk but hubby just leave her in the playpen. She turned to me and ask me to carry her so I carried her and bring her out to the kitchen. Then I tell her that her school is having party today so ask her to enjoy herself… When she went to drink her milk, I left the house for work.
That day around 4pm, her teacher in charge called me and told me that Xinru is having those tap kind of running nose, coughing badly and teary eyes. So after confirming that she does not have fever, I did not apply for time off to bring her back earlier.

As usual, met hubby at the platform of NEL, went to fetch her. When we reached the Infant Care centre, we saw Xinru walking around the centre. She does not look like she is very tired and not active like what the teacher mention to me over the phone. When we left the centre, she again insists to walk the '口福' food court way but hubby managed to coax her back the way home.
When we reached home, she is like so happy... playing her own toys and walking around the house. And peacefully, no tantrums tat night…. And when her nose has the mucus, she walked to me and tell me ‘咪…抹…鼻涕....’ then after I cleaned her, she went back to play again… After she took her dinner, I bathe her and but her to bed and around 11plus, she make some slight noise and I asked if she wants her milk and she tell me ‘ai (in hokkien means want) then I told her that she cannot fuss and I will go and make her milk and true enough, she did not make any fuss.

Saturday ~ 29 September
In the morning, as usual we brought Xinru to the Infant Care centre and went for breakfast. After the maid left the house, I went to catch a short nap then shortly hubby went for his lesson and I went to pick Xinru up. The aunty told me that ‘欣如又被那个pui kiah 咬’ then I was like ‘huh… again…..’ then I asked Xinru who bite her and she tell me ‘Zackers’ and I turned to him and tell him ‘if u bite Xinru again, I bite you…’ and he just stared at me looking gong gong….
Bro drove me to fetch Xinru and drove us back and when we reached home, the 2 of them played happily and after bro left, Xinru continue playing her toys and I do my stuff. Till around 430pm, I put Xinru to take a short nap and I napped again. After that, I cooked dinner for her and the day went on peacefully. So happy cause I am enjoying the day with her…

Sunday ~ 30 September
Xinru woke up around 8plus in the morning and I bugged hubby to go out for breakfast and so happen that mom is going out w bro for breakfast so we tagged along and went to eat Bak Kut Teh at Ang Mo Kio…. It has been such a long time since I eat…. Yummy… hehe… and when we reached there, we got a seat and order and had our breakfast and Xinru ate that too. Overall, she did behave well except that when she finish her food, she started wanting to move around. Lucky hubby has finished his food so he carried her to walk around then I ate mine. After eating, I went to find my friend and happen to see the Barney and Elmo’s bedsheet and immediately Xinru shouted in excitement ‘Barney Barney..’ then when she see Elmo, she does that too…. So I bought it immediately cause I have been looking for it high and low….
After buying, we went home, I bathe Xinru and make milk for her and she slept immediately after drinking…
When she woke up, her activity went on and no tantrums!!! I am so glad that she has been behaving well for the past few days…. And of course, for me, I did not lose any temper… Although she does have slight tantrums but I ignored it cause she has been good overall so did not want to scold her….
That night, we went out for dinner. Although she was behaved badly outside, but I did not scold her but talk to her nicely and happily finish our dinner and went home. Back home, bathe her and put her to bed. See, everything went on well….

Monday ~ 1 October (Children’s Day)
I was on leave cause the school was closed for Children’s Day. It would not be a boring day cause I have already planned to bring Xinru out at least for half a day… hehe…
She actually woke up around 5+ in the morning for milk and after drinking she fall asleep on my bed and I carried her back to her playpen. I handled her cause hubby need to work.
She woke up around 8plus and i get her ready to go out cause I told her that I will be bring her for MacDonald’s breakfast. When hubby got ready, we left the house and in the lift, Xinru told her daddy ‘Donald donald’ then I told her ‘yes… mummy bring Xinru go for MacDonald okie…’ then we took LRT while hubby took his breakfast at 口福 food court. Xinru was like blurred when we left without hubby and she kept asking where is daddy… hehe then I told her that daddy has to work…
When we reached Compass Point, we went for our breakfast first. MacDonald’s was so crowded and lucky we managed to find a place to settle down. We chopped eat and leave… After that, I bring her to the post office to post out Laiyee’s stuff and the authorization letter for my brother in law to go ahead with our agreement on our flat. After sending out, we went back to Compass Point to buy Elsie’s stuff and went to Kiddy Palace to buy the cabinet latch as she is much taller now and can open the cabinet door tat does not have any handle. After Kiddy Palace, we went back to Metro to source for the baby doll that can make cries and laughing sound but we can’t find any cause there just have so limited ones, and we again went back to Kiddy Palace to find again but also cannot find so give up and left Compass Point and ask there are quite a few things to carry and Xinru is kind of tired already so we took a cab home.
When we reach home, Xinru played with her toys for a while and I bathe her then make milk for her to drink and after that she fall asleep. When she slept, it was about 120pm already. Once she slept, I went to do some stuff and went to nap too.
She woke up around 3plus and drank her milk, after that she played her toys and all the way till evening time.
And she behaved well thru the day too….. i really enjoyed the time spent at home with her.

I find her a real sweetie. She is just 19 months but she already knows how to help me though.
1. Like when I wants to wash her clothing, she will go and push the basket of dirty clothing which is outside the toilet to the kitchen and I will ask her to sort out what I want to wash and she will do it for me and help me to throw those that I want to wash in the washing machine.
2. When my phone rings and I am not in the living room, she will go and pick it up and pass it to me.
3. After playing toys, I will ask her to keep her toys and she will really keep everything by herself. I think this is important cause at least she knows that she has to keep her own stuff after using it.
4. When she sees the corner of the floor mat is folded up, she will goes ‘oh oh….’ Then unfold it back and put it nicely.
