Phonics

I had never ever come across Phonics... I heard of it but never go and study about what is Phonics all about.

Ever since Xinru promotes to Nursery, she will have Phonics lesson like once a week. Certain educational toys that we bought for her, some also teaches Phonics... its just now amazing Phonics has become a aid to the kids for reading and recognizing words.

Xinru has never read a book on her own before and from what i see, there are a few words that she can just spell it out and tell you the words. So it never came across my mind that thru Phonics, she can recognize some words. I admit i am a lazy mother who don't go thru what she has learned in the school or ask her to go and study kind. hehe...

Previously i blogged that Xinru is getting her hands on Itouch and i downloaded an educational game for her. Initially when she played the game, when a picture pops up, she needs us to tell her what are the choices of words given to her then she chose the correct one because the game does not tell them what the word is.

Just over the weekend, i started noticing that she is playing the game on herself and most of the answer were correct. When she was playing the game last night, and i heard her using her phonics skill that she has learned. Out of curiousity, i asked her how did she know the answer and she tell me she sees the letter of the word, use Phonics skills and choose the answer and BINGO, the answer was right... I was kind of amazed over it... hehe

It's confirmed!!!

We finally booked our tickets to Universal Studio for 1st May!!! and YES, we are going into the Universal Studio.... i am happy of course.... :P

I got friends telling me better not to bring kids in order to make use of the value of the tickets... but for me, my thinking differs..... The main motive is to bring Xinru there and play...... so of course she must be there... And i realised that nowadays i can even give up playing those rides even though i am very keen.... I don't want to queue and let hubby bring her for the rides while i play the rides myself... I don't want to let Xinru wait for me while i play the rides... I think the ultimate reason that i 'lost interest' is due to our first trip to Genting. Just because i want to play the ride with sis, i left Xinru with hubby and when i return and know that she had a fall and one side of her face is scratched... My heart broke and my tears flowed that time.

Its not that i don't trust my hubby but i rather have 2 pairs of eyes on her... Well, call me paranoid... hehe...

Nevertheless, we are going to enjoy our day there on 1st May and will upload the pictures into facebook... :)

Sweetie Sweet Girl

My little girl is the sweetest and lovest girl in the world... *shy* Well, at least to me... :P

I was not well over the weekend and finally cannot take it cause on Sunday, my back is practically pain until i could not sleep the whole night and Monday morning, i give up and went to see doctor.

Monday morning when i was about to leave the house for doctor, Xinru woke up and wanted to followed me to the doctor when i told her that she has to attend school and cannot follow me. She listened and bids me good bye....

Shortly after my doctor visit, Xinru called me. She ask me 'what did the doctor say, and ask me to rest well at home and remember to take nutrient stuff.' That touches my heart... even my hubby did not tell me all these... hehe...

The night i went to picked her from school, she ask if i am feeling better and did i eat vegetables? i told her 'oh no, i did not... ' She replied 'i thought i ask you to eat?' Then i told her that i did not cook, only ate bread for lunch... Then she smile...

This morning, my sweetie girl called me... She asked if i am still coughing a not and ask if i felt better... After i replied her, she say ok then tell me that she is going to school already.

She is just like a 小大人 to me or i should say to people around me..... She does make me fuming hot when she started to talk back or start her 大道理.... but what she talks makes senses and not 乱乱讲.... Sometimes really don't know to laugh or to get angry with what she says.... :P

Universal Studio Singapore

Over the long weekend, we brought Xinru down to Sentosa, purpose was to visit the newly open Universal Studio... It was quite a last minute decision and as we did not booked the tickets, when we reach the place where to take the monorail, there was a sign board telling people that 'All Tickets has been sold out'. Upon knowing that, i told Xinru and she was quite disappointed. We still went ahead to Sentosa but went to other places instead.

Xinru has been saying that she wants to go to the beach so we decided to go there. It was about 11am closed to 12noon when we eventually hit Sentosa and the sun was brimming bright... So we decided to take on the Skyride since we did not take before. It was quite a nice experience. :)

After our 2 way Sky ride, we headed to the beach. Although it was just a 15 to 20 mins stay there, Xinru was happy. Since the weather was quite hot, we allowed her to play at the water area and got herself drenched. Can see that she has enjoyed the water fun... :)

After changing her into dry clothing, we went back for the Monorail and decided to drop at Waterfront station to walk around. The place was quite big and seems fun... But we can only see from far and drool from far... haha.... but we promised Xinru that the next trip to Sentosa, we will bring her to Universal Studio... :)

We end our outing after going to Toys 'R' Us and our happy girl got herself a Barbie Doll and a container of wooden blocks. :)
