Xinru's my dearie girl..

I always feel that Xinru is closer to me than hubby. Although at times she will make me angry over her funny and unreasonable request but overall, when it comes to heart, i seems to be her #1...

Last week i was not well so i did not went to work on Friday, hubby work late on Thursday night so i took the initiative to bring Xinru to school on Friday morning then to the doctor although i am really not feeling well.

That night when hubby and me went to fetch Xinru, when Xinru saw me, she ask me 'Mummy, you see doctor already?' When i told her yes, she ask me again 'You go and see alone ah?' My answer was 'Yes' again. She asked again 'Daddy did not bring you to see doctor ah? Where daddy?' I replied her 'Oh.. daddy sleeping at home...' She turned to hubby and pointing and moving her fingers and tell daddy 'Orh..... 烂猪' Hubby and me broke out laughing....

Saturday night, after cooking dinner for the family, the floor is very oily so i got hubby to do the housework. Hubby was suppose to vaccum while i mop this time round but the lazy daddy continue to read with Xinru, so i got the vaccum cleaner and start vacumming. After i am done with the vaccum, Xinru told hubby something that caught me. here's what she tell her daddy...

Xinru: Daddy,你还不去帮妈咪抹地,妈咪生病很可怜..还要妈咪知己做东西..你应该照顾妈咪, 不是妈咪照顾你...

I was laughing at what she tell hubby and i just keep quiet. Later after i am done with the kitchen, i got Xinru to go and bath while hubby does the mopping of the balance....

Sometimes i don't know to laugh or to scold Xinru for what she has tell her daddy as i find that what she mentioned was facts which she sees it herself as i did not say all these to her before... :P

Meet The Parents Session

We were scheduled to the session on 12 Dec 2009 @ 1030am.

Met up with Teacher Charmaine, Xinru's lead teacher and 刘老师, the chinese teacher. This time round, i got Xinru to attend the session with us, purely because i want her to know what the teacher are commenting on her. Basically, her teachers comment for overall was good. They mentioned that she is a fast learner and absorbs what she was being taught in a short time. Her chinese teacher mentioned that there was once she played a Chinese story in CD form that she brought over from China which has those strong Chinese accent language, after listening to the story, her teacher ask some questions on the stroy and Xinru is able to answer which she mentioned was something great cause she did not expect the children to be able to answer what she asked.

Her teachers also mentioned that when they are not having any lessons, she tends to be more talkative and notti. She will be running around and playing when she has the other friend with her....

We also collected back her worksheet that she has done in the school together with a CD-Rom on what she does at the centre. Her remarks on the worksheet are mostly being commented that she is a child with good imaginative and she knows what she is doing. Example when the teachers got the children to draw the dot to dot to form a house, she will add in the windows and door. When the teachers got them to draw 'My Family' she will drew in the sky and grass.

We also learned that from next year onwards, she will be taking up Phonics and Computer Lessons in school. Other than that will be her Speech and Drama which she has been taking for 2 terms.. The other day, her Speech & Drama lesson teacher gave a Certificate on the less. She has got all 'Excellent' while the previous time she has all 'Good'.

Infact when i knew that she has to take up Phonics, i am considering whether to let her continue her Speech & Drama. Have spoke and discuss with Xinru and we decided to let her continue since she is interested in it.. :)

First Dental Visit

It has always been hanging on my mouth that i want to bring Xinru for a dental visit but i never make an effort to do that... Lazy mom!!! :P Anyway, i see that her teeth are clean and tidy, so thought it would not make any difference...

The day after her allergy attacked, i see that she is feeling ok and it was kind of bored at home, so i decided to try my luck to call HPB to see if there is any available slot. We were lucky... just nice a patient cancelled her appointment at 330pm so we got that slot... :)

Xinru slept till 3pm so we got to take a cab down and upon reaching, it started to rain heavily and lucky there was shelter.. Phew...

When we reached there, i registered Xinru and waited for our turn. The wait was about 25mins and Xinru was being entertained by the toys and chart at the waiting area. Soon, it was our turn...

We went into a big hall that has a lot of small individual cubicle and we went to search for cubicle 25. When we reached, we were greeted by a young, friendly and nice lady dentist. She commented Xinru's teeth was very beautiful and she is also co-operative through the process.

They did a count of her teeth, did a check on them and also did polishing. She realised that the 2 front teeth has got some stains and she did a cleaning on them and notice the 2 left molars are not being brushed properly.

After about 15mins, we are done and Xinru was awarded 2 stickers for bring a good gal. We went out to make payment and in total we paid $9 for the procedure and the dentist says that Xinru's teeth is ok, so we can go back 6 months later.

Afterall, it was a great experience.. :)

2nd December 2009 - Allergy Attacked!!!

In the evening after Xinru finished her dinner, she was was watching television programme on the safa when she started scratching her ankle. We thought it was normal dirt that cause the scratching so i got her to bath and shortly after the bath, i realised her body started developing red patches and not long, she started to scratch....

She was tired already but the itchyness kept disturbing her sleep and i realised more and more red patches were developed and it has actually mutiply over her body and face as well.. At 1145pm, we decided to bring her down to KKH Children A & E. We were lucky to get a cab fast and the cabby drove fast too... :) We reached there around 12 midnight. On the way there, she was feeling ok except for sleepy...

We took our queue number and waited shortly before our number flashed. The nurse did some routine check like temperature and blood pressure and asked us some question. After a while, we were asked to go out and wait for our turn to see the doctor. We were directed to register before seeing the doctor.

About 15mins passed, our number was flashed and the doctor gave her a check and did some questioning on what food was consumed earlier on and concluded that she got a food allergy and that if flu medication was given earlier when the rashes developed, it would have not resulted in this. I kind of find the doctor funny because how would i know that she is having an allergy and how would i know that the flu medication will ease her red patches. He added that her has gone to phrase 2, which is 4-6 hours after the reaction, so it was consider bad already. The doctor also mentioned that the allergy will be cleared within 3-5 days. We asked Xinru what she ate and she mentioned Kaya Bread and eggs. Thru Xinru, i know that she don't take these 2 items so we thought it was due to that. Nevertheless, the doctor gave her 2 medication on the spot. The first one she took, she was fine. But when the 2nd one went in, she threw out... The doctor mentioned that we should bring her back for a test in 6-8 weeks time.

After cleaning up and speaking to the doctor, we left the room and went to make payment followed by collection of medication. Xinru was given 3 kind of medication. One was to be taken in the day and one for the night for itchyness while the other one is to control the red patches from re-developing in the next few days.

We reached home around 1am plus, got her to sleep and the next day morning, the red patches was all gone but she does not feel like going to childcare centre, so i let her stayed at home to rest.

Seeing her feeling alright, i make an appointment to bring her to Health Promotion Board for a dental visit, after that, brought her to Compass Point to buy her Christmas present.

That night when we reached home, her red patches developed again. It looks worse than the day before but it was more on her legs and face. Managed to get her to sleep after medication and the next day decided to let her rest a day more at home.

Lucky everything was in control now... :)
