Penang Day 2 - 23 Jan 2009

Whenever we came back to Penang for holidays, it’s always a so-called relaxation trip because basically we do nothing but staying in the hotel to rest, swim, going over to my mother in law’s house if not will be going for some shopping at Island Plaza, Komtar or Gurney Plaza.

Our Day 2 started with the hotel buffet breakfast when we went down around 830am. The cafe was already kind of packed but we still manage to get a table. As usual, Xinru will have not much things to eat except for honeystar and conflake. Earlier she has got her milk intake so it’s fine if she just got some tidits...

After our breakfast, we went back to the room and shortly we went over to my mother in law place with what we have bought. Xinru went over and look for Henry but the both of them are out to school. My mother in law cooked some dishes but not my steam chicken but there is my favourite sotong... Yummy...

My brother in law came back for lunch around 12 plus and he brought Xinru to ride on the motorbike and brought her for a spin around the house. Initially she was scared but after a short distance, she starts to enjoy the ride and my brother in law came back with her about 10 mins later.

When they returned, my brother in law was about to take lunch and Xinru says she wants to sit beside my brother in law for lunch and we lunch together. Shortly after lunch, we went back to the hotel and got Xinru to bath and we took nap till around 5plus and after a while, we took a 30mins ride bus to Komtar. Our motive is to find Xinru’s DVD for Teletubbies.

We did not manage to find them in the first shop and till the second shop then we managed to find 1 DVD that has 6 different shows in it and we paid only for RM10. Cheap... haha then we also got Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda with some other shows and 1 chinese movie all for about RM 35... Well, hubby got some restriction in the number of shows that i want to buy... :P
After getting what we want, we went to ‘Mong Kok Cafe’ for dinner. We order a set of 2 person’s meal that includes either a meat or fish, one vegetables and 1 soup together with 2 drinks.. all for RM 28.80 and we add on a plate of Cha Siew for Xinru to go with rice. We had a nice and cheap dinner...

After the dinner, we went to the bus terminal to catch a bus back to hotel and when we reached hotel, i got Xinru to have a quick bath and put her to bed. Finally hubby and me can have a good sleep cause the hotel managed to get us a playpen.. else i think i am going to be awaken up by Xinru's kick again... :P

Penang Trip - 22 Jan 2009

22 Jan 2009 came the day for the 3 of us to travel to Penang for LNY... this year don't really feel any urge to do the packing although i was on leave since Monday and only flying on Thursday, instead i am watching 'Xiao Nai Re' at home... I only started packing Xinru's luggage on Sunday and ours the day before departure... :P

All of us woke up at 6am and i did the last minute packing of stuff while Xinru have her milk and at around 715am, we left home in taxi to Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 1. We checked in out luggage and went for a drink and went into the Departure Hall. The decoration is still the same as what we saw in Nov when we went to Hong Kong but nevertheless, we still took pictures.. hehe

After some photo taking, we proceed to the Gate D34. We q to be check and went in to wait for the plane to reach. The plane departs T1 around 9am and 50mins later, we reached KL. This is the first time that we are travelling in transit instead of taking the aeroplane from Senai Airport.


When we reached KLIA airport, we have to move fast to check in our luggage and lucky we are in time.. Phew... We waited a while for the customs officer to chop out passport and moved on to the departure area at Gate P5. Shortly announcement were made for us to join the queue and we went on board the plane. Xinru was ok through compared to the Hong Kong trip cause it's only 50mins of in plane.. hehe In the plane, she does her Dora water colour.

This time round, we brought 2 big luggage cause need to put in some stuff that we bought at Chinatown, 2 bottle of DOM, 4 cans of abalone and 2 big bottle of Salmon oil tabs.. and the luggage are VERY heavy man!!!!

We reached Penang at 12noon and waited for brother in law and mother in law and Xinru greeted them and even let my mother in law carry. My brother in law dotes on Xinru... When he saw Xinru, he commented that she is getting prettier and he gave a kiss on her forehead and before when he walked to collect his car, after a few steps, he returned again to kiss Xinru.. and kept smiling... Looking at how my mother in law and brother in law dotes on Xinru makes me feel pleased... :P

We went for lunch at the usual chicken rice stall near mother in law's place and my brother in law sent us to the hotel and he sent my mother in law home before he goes to work.

When we got the room number, it is such a concident that the room number is our ROM date - 1812... hahaha After checked in, i settle some of the stuff and got Xinru to bathe and get her to nap cause when we arrive, on the way for lunch, she fell asleep in the car and i woke her up to eat and she need to get some rest or else i would not be able to rest too!!! hahaha

The 3 of us knock out till 7pm and we went for dinner near Island Plaza after a 15mins ride on bus. Hubby and me took 'Pi Pa Duck' rice set while Xinru had 'Wanton Noodle'. After dinner, we walked over to Island Plaza Cold Storage to get some necessities and got my mother in law some chicken essence and bird nest... and we took a bus back to the hotel and it was close to 11pm when we reached. Got Xinru to change and take her milk and off we knock off... :)

Preparation for Xinru 3rd Birthday

In a blink of eyes, Xinru is turning 3 in another 16 days... her birthday this year falls after the Penang trip and it is on a Sunday so i have decided to do a little birthday bash for her at home... Because of the Penang trip, i have to settle all her things before we leave for Penang and i am glad that all things have been settled...

I have sent out sms invite to my cousins and a invitation card to my buddies and have somehow got their response... I have already order the catering and cake has also been order... :)

I have thought of the birthday theme since last year when i decided to do up a birthday bash for her and i have choosen the theme - Carebears.. Reason being that all the other character has been used before... so decided on this for both family/friends celebration and even the school one is going to be Carebears...

A trip down to Chinatown

We brought Xinru down to Chinatown to get some new year stuff for my mother in law on 21 Jan. We expected quite a crowd but... it wasn't that crowded afterall... :P

We got a few items and i bought a top for my mother in law and walked down from Chinatown MRT station to Outram Park to see lightings... but a bit of disappointed cause there wasn't anything really special and there wasn't a lot to see too.. :P

Xinru has been coming back home singing lots of songs and saying some short poems that she has learnt from school... Although she started doing this few months back but she will either say a few sentences or it will be unclear.. She has really grown up and she is more willing to 'perform' for us to see... hehehe
At times she will ask us what we want to listen and she will start to sing to us... She will also suddenly just popped out some poems that she has learnt from her teacher... I managed to video 1 chinese poem that she learnt from her teacher and it just sounds so funny...

Another song which her teachers just taught her lately is - 恭喜恭喜.. she just sound so cute singing it and past few days, i can only hear her '恭喜恭喜' this 4 words loudest... Yesterday, she was able to sing it at clearer version.. hehe

New haircut!!

Over the weekend, hubby and me brought Xinru down to 'Super Cuts' at Compass Point for her hair cut.. Her hair looks kind of messy and the fringe is sort of long already so better get it trim for New Year...

Super Cut has been 'her salon' eversince we brought her for her first hair cut. She love the place because there is a car and motorcycle 'seat' for her while cutting her hair... Last week when i told her that we are going to trim her hair, she was happy... She tell me that '我要剪美美..这样这样.. and she will be like point and making her hair... Then she went to tell granny that '阿嬷,我要去剪头发..做车车还是motorbike剪的leh... 还有barney看的...' and my mom will go laughing....

I really find my this little girl kind of 'vainpot'... She will sit down on the 'seat' and guai guai let the hair stylist to trim her hair and listen wat the hair stylish say.. When she starts to fidget, you just need to tell her 'You move not nice liao huh...' then she will stop moving... even when it gets a little itchy she will first tell you 'Mummy, itchy..' but she will not move.... so funny... :P

I find Xinru very fast in translating the things that we say... I did a few trial on her and i realise she can just switch what we say in English to Chinese in just the next sentence... Example i will purposely talk to her in English and ask her to ask her granny... After i shoot my question, she just turned to her granny and translate straight without thinking to granny... It really caught our amazement. And no joke, the meaning and the language was being used correctly... :) Good Job Baby...

My little girl has been kind of being 'Ms Friendly' lately.. especially towards baby.. hehe whenever she sees a baby in the pram by passing her in the opposite direction, she will go to the pram and say 'Hi Baby...' or when she is at some places where she see prams, she will also do the same... hehe and i told her that 'Daddy and Mummy will try to give you a little baby soon..' Hope the wish will be granted soon... :)

2nd Jan 2009

Hubby and me was on leave cause i need to get some New Year clothing and finally most of them have been washed and kind of quarter done for LNY... Phew...

After shopping, we went back home and i suggested bring Xinru to Ajisen @ Compass Point for noodle... and i ordered a Kids Meal for her.. of course she was happy... and all of us enjoyed the meal cause Xinru did behaved well thru the meal... Good Job, Baby!!

Happy 2009!!!

This year countdown to 2009 is the same as previous year... No partying but only stay at home for TV counting down... haha *Well at least i got to watch the countdown show*

31st Dec, all of my colleague including me were stretching our neck long, waiting for the announcment of 'Half day' but it ended up with full day of work. As the childcare centre operates from 7am to 2pm, and i am not on 1/2 day, hubby got to apply half day leave to go and fetch Xinru. Of course, i am worried... cause i don't think hubby can handle her and i know that little super glue is gonna look for me....

Around 330pm, i gave hubby an sms and i am glad that he told me that she just fell asleep... Phew.... Good Job, Hubby!!! Earlier on, i told hubby to inform the school not to let her sleep so that in the afternoon when she comes home, she can sleep and by the time she woke up, i am about to come home.

At 5pm, my phone rang... i knew something is not smooth... True enough, Xinru crying hard on the other hand... OMG... she was as usual screaming and shouting for me and i talked to her about 30mins to ask her not to cry and get her daddy to bring her downstairs for bicycle ride and playground...

I took a cab from Sengkang back home and when i reached home, they are just back from playground. My dear girl told me 'Mummy, i cried for you..' then i ask her 'why... why you cry?' She answered me 'cause i like Mummy' hearing that, it just melt my heart... and well now, whenever she cries for me when i am not around, she used that otherwise she say 'Cause i want Mummy...'

On New Year's Day, we brought my mom togehter with me sis and bro to 'Tian Jin Restaurant for lunch' and after that we went back home... and Xinru went to nap... JUST A SIMPLE NEW YEAR!!! :)
