28 June 2008 ~~~

Last Saturday after bring Xinru to the Childcare, hubby and me went to have my favourite LJS breakfast and after that did some grocery and went back home to wait for the Singtel man to come and check on my MIOTV..

Finally after he checked, i finally get to see the drama that i have not been able to watch.. Tat's the problem with a mother... unless the child is old enough otherwise its kind of difficult to do what i want.. hmmmm

Initially Saturday plan was to bring Xin Ru to Jarren's place together with some other mummies and their kiddo to celebrate Jarren's little brother, Jovan's 1st birthday.. But a few of them are not well and Jarren also just recovered so end up did not go up...

After hubby brought her home, as usual, played her own toys.. and she seems like not having enough sleep so ask her to nap... When she woke up, we went over to my auntie's place for dinner... and we both wear the same top....

Although she did not really misbehave at my aunty's place but she was like kind of 'pa dao' on certain things... Even my cousin say 'wow... ur replies all very powderful huh...' We stayed there till around 945pm and we went back home cause Xinru was tired already...

29 June 2008~~~

Xinru woke up around 6+ to ask for milk and she fell asleep again.. I love it when she falls asleep after the milk so that means that i can sleep till at least 9+ in the morning... After she woke up, got her daddy to buy 'Wan tan' noodle for her cause she was asking for noodle the previous morning... After she finish her breakfast around 10+, she played with her toys and run about the house, as usual so busy... got her to take her bath around 12+, after that milk and then nap...

We have already planned to go out to buy a wallet for my mom's birthday so after she woke up, we went to Compass Point... She was happy as usual... she always love to take bus so she was consider obedient...

When we reach there, we got the wallet and went to the toys department.. My mom wanted to get her another set of Play Doh so we brought her to see and eventually we left Metro without buying cause she cannot decide which one she want... After payin for the wallet, Xinru ask me 'Mummy, where is my toys?' and i told her we going to see is there any other variety at Kiddy Palace...

We went up to the Kiddy Palace level and before going to Kiddy Palace, we went to the other 'Learn Thru Play' shop... They are doing a moving out sales and we managed to got something which her teacher recommended, saying that they are letting the kids played with threading so as to prepare their writing skills in time to come....

After getting this item, we went to Kiddy Palace and check out some toys... Ended up, there was nothing much but i got her a puzzle instead... That night when we went back home, she asked to open and she has already managed to do the puzzle with a little guidance from me....

There was nothing much to buy so we went back to Metro to get her set of Play Doh... Xinru was actually pondering whether to buy the breakfast set or the Birthday set... Hubby says that the breakfast set looks better so end up we got the breakfast and with my mom paying the money cause she says she was the one who want to get it for Xinru... Well.. ok lor.... :)

When we reached home, Xinru bug us to open the toys and after her dinner, we let her played with the Play Doh and she was so funny... After playing for quite sometime, she tell me 'Mummy, I don’t want to play already… I want to keep toys... Xinru wants to watch TV, go pong pong, play toys, read book…. ' then after keeping, she sat on the small chair to watch TV... and after a while she tell me 'Mummy, i am tired....' hehe When she tell me about this, i find her like so grown up... talking like a older kids.. haha... but actually she only trying to say for fun.. hehe cause she was like laughing to herself when she says that... hehe

Indeed, Xinru has become even more sensible for the past few weeks... hehe why i use 'even more' cause all the way, i feel that she is sensible enough to understand certain logic that we spoke to her.

Last night she was funny... She was playing with the Play-doh when i was cooking dinner then when i am done with the cooking, i asked Xinru to go and wash her hands and she kept telling me that she is not done yet so i ask her 'Do u wan me to throw away the toys??' then she tell me 'don't want... i am coming...'

Shortly, she and her daddy start packing up and she saw one little tiny play doh on the floor and she pick up and her daddy ask her to throw... Here's how the conversation is:

Daddy: Xinru, go and throw that away and go and wash hand already.

Xinru" * picked up the play doh*: Throw where?

Daddy: Throw it inside the toilet bowl

Me: No, throw it into the rubbish bin

Xinru: Daddy ask Xinru throw toilet leh...

*all of us laughing*

Me: no.. only can throw tissue and toilet paper inside toilet bowl

Daddy: okie okie throw inside the dustbin

*Xinru ran to the kitchen to throw*

The previous night, when i bring Xinru home from school, when she stepped into the house only, she asked for Granny. I was kind of strange how come when she reached home only she looked for my mom cause normally when she is back home, she will go and played with her toys till she is bored already then will go knocking Granny's room and say '阿嬷,我要进去leh' then Granny will open the door to let her in and tat's where i can go and do my stuff...

That night was special, i don't know why... So i told her that Granny is out, have not come back home... Then she was ok till when she tell me she wants to pee, she tell me '妈咪,我要找阿嬷leh' then i tell her that 'Mummy don't where 阿嬷go, how to bring you 找阿嬷?' then i ask her '妈咪打电话给阿嬷好吗?' and she tell me '不要,我要找阿嬷.' It really puzzle me how come she keep asking for my mom...and that night she did not even open her mouth to ask me to play toys with her...

All things were reveal when my mom came home and i was about to bring Xinru to bed. I told my mom that she was looking for her and my mom laughed and tell me that morning she has promise that she will play with her when she comes home from school that night.... Then i told my mom 'no wonder she did not pester me and keep looking for you...' Lucky i did not let her go out of the room when my mom comes back, if not don't what time she is going to sleep...

Before i went inside the room, my mom told me that she thought that Xinru will forget about the matter then i told her 'You are wrong already, she is someone who you must keep your promise one.. or else she will keep asking... unless you manged to distract her with other things then she will not keep asking for it...' Overall, i realise that nowadays she can be distracted by a lot of things.. so not much of a keep wanting kind of attitude... :)

A visit from Ivy

My dear friend, Ivy has always been a fan of my little Xinru.. whahah.... She always called her 'Junior Aquaries' cause their date of birth is 5 days apart only and she has loved her to bits since she was on this earth... It always feel so good that you know that your child is well loved by people around you.

Ivy has been hanging the words 'i wan to play with Xinru' over her mouth but as she was busy with her studies, it was quite some time since her last visit to my place... Finally, she came over last Saturday...

I think it was too long ever since Xinru saw her, so when she reached my place, Xinru become so quiet immediately... I tried to let her interact with her and melt Xinru's gold.. but it takes quite some time...

Ivy bring along chocolate and sotong balls and Xinru only says 'Thank you' but did not greet her.. haha.. She is just so funny.. the more you want her to greet people, the more she don't want..'

The gold finally melt when Xinru wants to play 'Play-doh'. Initially was me and Xinru playing then Ivy came to join us and the 2 of them have a great time playing...

After the 'Play-doh' session, Xinru took her dinner but she did not take much i think she don't like the fish.. But thinking that anyway she is going to take her milk later, just let her eat a bit... After that, to keep her from bring cranky due to tiredness, we bring her down to the playground... Ivy went with us and tried to take photos of her but did not managed to cause she was running around...

After returning home, Ivy went back and i bath Xinru and that night she slept before 930pm and i have a early rest myself too... The next morning, she woke up around 745am and drank her milk and went to sleep again till 10+... hehe....

Xinru has recovered!!

After me falling sick, on my way to recovery, Xinru got the 'germs' from me... Felt kind of gulity cause i should have quarantine myself but instead i sleep after she sleeps..

She started coughing on last Monday then on Tuesday, her teacher called me and told me that Xinru has developed fever and threw out her lunch. Called hubby to see if he can go and pick her up earlier while i leave at my usual time as the previous week i was already on 4 days MC, so after i knocked off from work, i rush my way to Yio Chu Kang and got a cab down to pick them both since it was like starting to rain again... When i reach there, i then saw hubby walking to the Child Care centre.. was thinking 'aren't he is suppose to reach first???' but i did not bother and pick her and went home..

When we reach home, she look like not sick and was running around the house. She don't behave sick but look tired and was really running a fever...

She took her porridge and that night she vomited out and was crying and the whole night i did not really sleep cause i set my alarm to hourly alarm so i can get up and monitor her... She sweat thru the night and morning when she was up, she was better... but still tired so i suggested not bringin her to school and i will take care of her at home so i called for urgent leave.

As that need to pray so after her milk, she was on my bed and when i return back to the room, she was asleep.. My poor little girl....

She woke up 2 hrs later and it seems like tat 2 hours was just enough to make her fully recovered. And she was ok thru the day already but was coughing on and off...

The next day, she went back to school and i went back to work.. :)

Hubby's birthday

We celebrated hubby's birthday on Tuesday, one day in advance as he needs to work late on the actual day. Tuesday i was on MC, so on the way back home, i bought hubby a 'Bob The Builder' birthday cake... Well well.. his name is not Bob.. hehe That character symbolies that he will be the builder of the family for his life to us... whahah so bad of me right...

It was meant to be a surprise for him but that night when Xinru was having dinner and when hubby is not back yet, i told Xinru that i have bought a cake for daddy cause it is his birthday... When Xinru's PaPa open the gate, Xinru got so excited, ran to the door and tell her daddy 'daddy...got birthday cake leh..' and started singing 'happy birthday to daddy.....' just one sentence.. hehe and she tried to hold her daddy's hand and want to drag him to the kitchen but he was removing his shoe so Xinru let go her hand and went to the fridge and started pointing and say 'Daddy... inside got birthday cake' Hubby looked at me and i acted blur...


When hubby went to change, i told Xinru secretly that 'Xinru, don't tell daddy.... We wait for 小姨姨to come and tell daddy...' then she nodded her head...

My sis and Isaac came over cause we will not be able to finish the cake so i ask them over as well. When my sis and Isaac came over, Xinru got so excited again cause i told her when 小姨姨 come over then we will take out the cake... So again, in front of her daddy she shouted '小姨姨...got birthday cake leh...' then hubby smile again.. and he act blur also... hehe

After the dinner, hubby went to the room to use the computer. I set up the stuff and ask Xinru to get her daddy out and she refused to go into the room to get him out instead she called her daddy loud while standing on the chair... Whne hubby came out, i was lighting the candle and when hubby reaches where Xinru is standing, Xinru gave him a hug!!! All of us was surprise that we don't think she will do that without anyone saying and hubby was touched....

After the hug, we sang the birthday song and cut the cake and happily everyone ate the cake... Even Xinru was eating but only the chocolate cream.. hehe

Barney Let's Imagine Live in Singapore

I booked the tickets to bring Xinru to watch Barney on the first day of release of the tickets. And of course, with the amount that i am going to pay, i will surely find a slot with the best seats.. hehe... And i managed to...

Friday when i picked Xinru from the Childcare Centre, Xinru tell me 'Mummy, i wan to watch Barney' then i tell her 'okie okie...' then she turned to her teacher and tell her 'I going Suntec see barney leh...' then her teacher was like 'oh.. u are going to watch Barney ah..' then Xinru replied her 'ya..' and off we went home... On the way home, i told her that we are going on Sunday and today tis Friday..' and so on...

Sunday came... Finally... *i have been waiting also cause i only attend Andy Lau's concert before..whahaha* Xinru wake up at her usual timin, 730am... had her milk and we laze around the room, cause once she stepped out of the room, she will ask me to play cooking with her again....

Got hubby up to go and pack food around 9am, came back, got Xinru to take some 鸡丝面and i chop chop finish my breakfast and rush her to bath... Who knows this little girl was taking her own sweet time, slowly making her toys... keep telling me 'wait huh'... Finally when she come to the toilet to bath, she again make a fuss and i really flare up when we were back to the room dressing... She was kicking and makin a fuss for nothing, and there goes my palm print on her fair thigh... When my mom came in, she ask me 'why her thigh red?' and i told her 'it's her present for 28th month old'

After i settle her, i went to bath and do all the stuff and at 1030am, finally we are ready to leave the house.... We waited for the Express bus at the bus stop and at 1045am, the bus came and happily we are off to watch Barney....

We reached Suntec at 1120am... Wow.. what a crowd... kids everywhere.... we took the escalator to the 6th floor and at the entrance took some pics and we went in... We got our seat and Xinru started asking for Barney... Shortly the show begans...When the Barney appear, the crowd got so excited and you really can hear the kids screaming.. hehe i was one of them who felt the excitement... Baby Bop looks real cute.. hehe... :P

In the first section, there were 3 songs which Xinru will normally perform when she is at home... Which is 'Aeroplane', 'Boom Boom crazy' and one which i can't remember.. But she sat on the chair watching attentively... Only singing but she called out Barney a few times... and she tunred to me and tell me 'Mummy, Barney no hear Xinru' then i tell her that 'It's too noisy for him to hear you...'

Then the breaktime came, she was upset when the curtain closed and tell me 'Mummy, i wan some more Barney' then i told her 'Barney, Baby Bop and BJ wants to go and eat.. so they got strength to sing and dance.. Xinru also must take your milk now then got strength to sing and dance...' She drank up her milk and when she is done, she tell me that she wants Barney again.. Then i told her that Barney is not ready... and she stands on my leg and started saying 'Barney..... Barney.... where are you???' i broke out laughing and with some of the audience beside us laughin together....

Finally, the break was over.... She was excited and seems like after the milk, she has really for strength..hehe... When the song 'Elephant' came, she started doing the elephant act and was singing along... She was so happy...

Next came the 'If all the raindrops...' she also enjoyed it...

When Barney starts to sing 'I Love You' very automatically Xinru will say 'I want some more'... and after telling her that Barney has to go, she was distracted by the popping out of the colourful paper and those ribbon... After the ribbon popping went off, she cried.... Because she did not managed to take hold of the ribbon as they were all snatch away by other kids already... The people around started smiling at me... I calmed her down and managed to got some for her on the floor.. and she was happy...

On our way to the exit, i asked if she enjoy the show, and she tell me 'Yes' and i tell her if she behave well, the next time they come, i will bring her again..

We went for lunch and went home. We slept till 6+ in the evening and when my mom came home, she asked about the show and Xinru perform while watching the videos that was in my handphone... I told Xinru 'Next time when Barney come again, we bring ah mah go okie' then she nodded her head and say 'no.... ah mah see here.. *pointing to my handphone* and say ah mah cannot go...' haha.. me and my mom was laughing....

Overall, she was well-behaved except for the morning 'show'... And i felt that the money was worth spending... :)

Xinru got a new play thing...

We just add one more educational plaything for Xinru yesterday... It is called 'Storytime Theater'...

I have seen this in the departmental stores before long time ago but felt that Xinru is too young to understand what's that about so did not make any action to buy. Lately hubby has been talking about something similar like this toys so i make an effort to find it.... hehe...

Finally, yesterday when i went to Takashimaya, my intention to buy some stickers for her as i have promised that morning. I happen to ask and they showed me the item and BINGO!! it's tat toys!! i picked the item that already have a story 'Winnie the Pooh' and i picked another that has 'Aladdin' and make the payment...

When i picked her back home in the evening, when she saw the paper bag on the dining table, she got excited and ask me what is that, after showing her for a while, i told her later when we go to bed then we on it to watch again... As it was like a projector kind of thingy, it have to be in a darker place for better results and when we were in the room, she asked me 'mummy, what is this??' and 'Mummy, why have to off the light?'... her questions is never ending... and can be asking me the same thing over and over again... Sometimes its does gets a little irritating... :P

Hb and me earlier planned to bring Xinru out to Giant @ Tampines after returning from the Child Care so before we send her to the CC, i told her that she have to go and take her nap instead of waiting for us to pick her so that we will go gai gai... She agreed...

On the way to Child Care

After we picked her, we brought her home to drink milk and changed... Gosh, it was raining.... Last week when we bring her out, it was raining too and hubby says that 'Whenever we want to bring her out, it rains...' BUT the rain was kind of co-operative... when we were in the bus it rains... When we alighted, the rain stopped... :)

We went to Giant, brought a DVD player cause the one in our room has some problem reading some of the CD/DVD and the set in the room is used by Xinru EVERYDAY... haha.. so we have to buy one!!

When we were about to leave Giant, it was around 5+ and Xinru started her crankiness.... we knew the root.. SHE IS TIRED..... managed to put her down a little but when we reached home, she tries her limit to the extend... ended up, she got 2 cane mark on her leg.... Well, after giving her the 2 cane mark, she quiets down.. and i told her that 'in future if mummy talks and don't work, i will let the cane do the talking' *its may sounds a bit harsh to use cane on her but i believe when there is a need, i will use it..' That night, she cries to sleep.... *faint*

We were expecting hubby's younger brother to our place cause he and his wife came over to attend a church wedding on Saturday. He told hubby that he will came over at 9am, as usual, Xinru wakes up at the usual time and around 830am, i started askin Xinru to wake her daddy up... Hubby wakes up, (for the first time he so guai, keep up before 930am whahaha)end up his brother say can only come over around 11+ so we went ahead with our breakfast. I decided to buy those package milk for Xinru to try...

Before that, i was playing with Xinru the alphabet board that i bought for her on Thrusday, she managed to match some of the alphabet onto the board and knew some of the items that represents the letter... Until, she reaches the letter 'V'... she asked 'Mummy, what is this??' then at that point of time i really can't remember so i asked hubby and hubby also cannot remember... Then i thought of changing the focus to another letter but she came back to the letter again and ask me 'Mummy.. what is this??' oops... cannot skip so hubby excused himself to the toilet and i went to sms a few of my frens.. hehe

After we came home, our usual routine then when i was bathing Xinru, his brother came...When Xinru came out of the room, she was shy... she hide behind me... then we sat at the sofa and my dear Xinru put her face on my face and tell me 'Xinru shy...' i broke out laughing... After a while, they left and i put Xinru to nap...

While Xinru was napping, hubby and have our lunch and i did some housechores and when i was watching tv, Xinru woke up... Normally when she wake up and i am not in the room, when she comes out of the room she will stick to me... whahaha.... She is such a dearie... :)
She plays toys, have her meal and while we were watching tv, she sat beside me and touch my tummy.... I turned and ask her 'Girl.. why u touching mummy's tummy??' She replied me 'Mummy tummy got baby... got Xinru inside...' and she smile... i broke out laughing....

She behaved well so later in the evening, we brought her down to the playground and there was 2 big jie jie there also... and when the jie jie did something that is not suitable for her to follow, she turned and tell me 'Mummy, cannot follow one...' hehe she remembers what i tell her... After playing enough, we went home happily...

The rest of the night she behaved also. When i was accompanying her to sleep, she keeps come to me and give me hugs.... She is sweet rite... :)
